Garden with Insight v1.0 Help: Soil daily erosion group

Water erosion today: The total amount of soil lost from the surface of the soil patch today due to its being carried off in rainfall, snowmelt, and irrigation water running off the soil surface.

Water erosion from rainfall today: The amount of soil lost from the surface of the soil patch today due to its being carried off in rainfall and snowmelt running off the soil surface. Depends mainly on topographic features (slope, etc), rainfall intensity, and vegetative cover.

Water erosion from irrigation today: The amount of soil lost from the surface of the soil patch today due to its being carried off in irrigation water running off the soil surface. Derived similar to soil erosion from rainfall and snowmelt, but a reduced watering intensity is assumed.

Wind erosion today: The amount of soil lost from this soil patch today due to the effects of wind erosion. Depends on wind speed and direction (relative to soil patch orientation), soil cover (plant residue), soil water content, and soil structure.

Wind erosion accumulated factor today: Used to calculate wind erosion.

Thickness waiting to be eroded today: If the amount of soil eroded during any one day (due to rainfall, snowmelt, and irrigation) exceeds the depth of the first soil layer (which is constant at 10 mm), the excess is saved and eroded the next day.

Enrichment ratio for N and P today: The ratio of N or P concentration in soil lost during erosion to that in remainder of the soil. Depends on the severity of the rainfall and the amount of runoff and eroded soil. Determines the amount of these nutrients lost during soil erosion.

Rainfall energy factor for USLE water erosion equation today: Used to calculate water erosion.
