Garden with Insight v1.0 Help: atmosphere


In this simulation the term atmosphere refers to the air above the soil patch as opposed to the air in the soil. When we say that ammonium ions are lost to the atmosphere in volatilization, we mean that the ammonium ions move through the air spaces in the soil into the air above the soil and don't return to the soil.
