Garden with Insight v1.0 Help: cation

A cation is a positively charged ion. Of the macronutrients (nutrients most needed for plant growth), calcium, magnesium and potassium are normally found in the soil as cations (Ca2+, Mg2+, and K+). Cations adsorb to tiny particles called micelles in clay and organic matter in the soil, and plants obtain cations by exchanging other cations for them (using energy) or by absorbing them from solution in soil water. For these reasons the cation exchange capacity and pH of the soil are very important in plant nutrient uptake.

How it works:
plant nutrient uptake
auto pH control
