Garden with Insight v1.0 Help: photosynthetic efficiency

Photosynthetic efficiency is the plant's effectiveness at turning the light energy of sunlight into the chemical energy stored in the bonds of sugar molecules. Some variation in photosynthetic efficiency is genetically based and adapted to a particular climate. Some variation depends on factors that affect photosynthesis such as shading, carbon dioxide concentration, temperature and water stress, and adequate leaf area to intercept sunlight.

In this simulation photosynthetic efficiency depends on a parameter that describes normal photosynthetic efficiency for the type of plant (cultivar) and its responses to environmental changes, then on the leaf area index, the vapor pressure deficit, and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

How it works:
photosynthesis
leaf area index
actual biomass increase
