Garden with Insight v1.0 Help: Derivation options window

In the derivation options window you can change how an aspect is derived from simulation variables. Many of the simulation's aspects can be derived in two or three ways. For example, the amount of water in a soil layer can be shown as either an absolute depth of water in the layer (as millimeters of water) or as a relative fraction of the layer's depth (as meters of water per meter of soil depth). Each of these derivations are valid ways to look at the amount of water in the soil layer.

You can open the derivation options window from the group editor (click the Derivation button when the aspect is selected), from the browser (Ctrl-click the unit in the browser component), and from the legend in the graph window (Ctrl-click the unit in the legend).

For any aspect the derivation window will show each of the options for deriving the variable. Click on the radio buttons to choose a derivation method. The text below will briefly describe the method. Click OK to keep your change or Cancel to abort it.
